911 Tape: ‘ My Daughter Is Missing’:

911 Tapes Reveal Stepmother Reported a Fire the Day Zahra Baker Disappeared:

Above you can listen to the 911 call Adam Baker made to the Hickory, North Carolina police on the supposed day that his daughter, 10-year-old Zahra Baker, disappeared.

What really galls me about the call besides how calm Baker was during the call was how he kept bringing up the fire that happened the day before. It’s almost like he kept saying to police “You know the fire that happened last night? You remember, don’t you? *wink wink nudge nudge*. It sounded to me like someone who was trying to use police to establish an alibi.

Then there’s the fact that he was so calm, cool and collected on the 911 call. Both my kids are in their 20s and are really bright kids. If one of them went missing I doubt that I would be that calm on the phone to police. Now figure in the fact that Zahra is a 10-year-old girl with a prosthetic leg and hearing aids and I would be fit to be tied if that was my daughter. I’d be that guy yelling at police asking why they aren’t doing more.

I realize that different people handle shock and grief in different ways but between the ‘fire’ and the 911 call, it just feels so contrived to me.

The only thing that puzzles me though is that if Adam Baker was involved in Zahra’s disappearance why hasn’t the Sheen-Cow, Elisa Baker, turned on her husband yet. Or are they so brazen that they think they can beat this if they keep their mouths shut?

Again this is all just speculation on my part.

  1. Bingo – they think if they just keep their yaps shut there’s not enough evidence and the police aren’t smart enough to figure it out without their help. Or maybe SHE is totally guilty of the murder and he just kept it quiet for her for several weeks so she knows she’ll only be able to drag him down so far by talking. And if she turned on him, then she’d have to fess up totally to what she did.

Time will tell the whole story but I think they’re both guilty as hell, IMHO.

  2. I’m just utterly disgusted by this whole story. It makes my guts churn. It has been speculated that child has been missing for some time since no one has seen the child for at least a month if I recall. I’m wondering what made them finally even call it in? Why not just pack up and move to a place that doesn’t even realize you had a child?

For child killers they arent very clever. Though step- mama-weasel face doesn’t look like the brightest crayon in the box anyway. What kind of a father stands by and lets this happen? I’d be absolutely beside myself if I thought something had happened to my little guy.

  3. “I realize that different people handle shock and grief in different ways…”

True – innocent people act the way you said you would, and guilty people act like this bastard is acting.

“Or are they so brazen that they think they can beat this if they keep their mouths shut.”

It’s happened before. But these two aren’t rich, so they might not get away with it as others have.

  4. We have a judge here in NC whose had I would like to shake! Sheen cow went before the court today asking to have her $40K bail reduced to something more like $1,000 to $5,000. Not only did the judge NOT reduce it … he INCREASED it! She would now have to come up with over $90,000 to get out! Here’s a link: http://www2.hickoryrecord.com/news/2010/oct/20/8/elisa-bakers-bond-increased-ar-468561/

The prosecutor came to court armed with a littany of times when Sheen-cow skipped court appearances and her own daughter from a previous relationship testified to her mother’s “nomadic” lifestyle and that she has a connection with a man in London who sent her $10,000.

Hurrah for this judge! Wish I lived in his district so I could vote him back into office!

  5. Hi!

I´m from Sweden and I follow your blog.
I think it´s discusting to read theese horrible things about child-abusers.
Sweden is such a small country so we haven´t had as many tragic things happening around here.
I like your blog though 🙂
And I will continue reading it.

    Take care//Hanna Uutela

  6. I’m confused by all the references to the fire. Did the psycho get rid of the Zahra’s body in the fire? Have forensics gone over that area? There are a lot of weird things going on here. I think step-mom is guilty of murder. I think dad either helped or is hiding it. So sad for that little girl.

Typical horrible parent hooking up with an equal sick person. Then a child is murdered or missing. Its so predictable these days. The government should pay criminals to be sterilized. Also, step monster mom forced her own kids to ride in wheelchairs to pretend they were ill. Where was Social Service???

    1. Supposedly they investigated but did not have sufficient evidence to make an arrest.

  8. Here’s another article from today’s news…sickening. It infuriates me (the lies he’s telling)

  9. The worst liar……….the bastard know what happened to his daughter…”apparently they took her prosthetic leg with”, “it appears they took my daughter instead of the boss’ daughter”, ‘ they set a fire to distract us” What the?????? “my daughter is in that broody stage and we only see her when she comes out for something”….she’s 10 years old!!!! And “We went back to bed” after they discovered their daughter wasn’t in her bed?????, “the call to 911 is hours after he allegedly discovers her missing”. It just goes on!
