30-year-old Lance Kyer of Indianapolis was recently arrested for allegedly soliciting a 10-year-old boy for sex over messaging app Kik. That’s not a typo, the kid was ten-years-old. Don’t get ahead of me just yet.

The boy’s mother had contacted police after finding explicit messages on her son’s Kik account. Police then posed as the boy in order to arrest Kyer. What happens next is the stuff of bad 80’s sitcoms…

When the investigators arrived to meet Kyer and identified himself as the police, Kyer responded, “I’m not him!” and tried to get away. He was quickly taken into custody.

Like the police would go “Ok, sorry. Enjoy your night”. That would almost be funny if we weren’t talking about a real predator here…

During the Kik exchange, the investigator maintained he was 10 years old and asked Kyer to confirm his age. Kyer said he was 30 years old. Kyer then asked when they could meet; the investigator asked Kyer what they would do if they did meet up. Kyer responded that “we can watch movies (and) maybe fool around if you like,” according to court documents.

So basically this 30-year-old man was asking a 10-year-old boy to Netflix and chill. Not only that but Kyer allegedly admitted to police that he had planned on travelling to Ohio to see another boy.

Now on to what you’re all screaming at your various screens of various size. What the hell was a 10-year-old boy doing on Kik? I’m glad that a parent was aware enough to detect what was happening but no 10-year-old needs to be on Kik especially since it’s rife with, you guessed it, sex offenders and pedophiles. You may as well just leave your kid duct taped to a school crossing sign at that point.
