A complaint filed in May says James Christopher Overton began communicating with a girl on the Kik app when she was 13 and he was 33.
Matthew Essen, 22, of Marlboro met a 14-year-old on the social messaging app Kik and traveled to Virginia to have sex with the teen has been sentenced to 15 years prison.
Randall Keith Midkiff admitted he later contacted the family’s 14-year-old daughter on Facebook and through a phone app called Kik, attempting to meet her for sex.
As part of his guilty plea, Jack Hiller, 55, of Port Crane, admitted that he used Kik, a message application, to receive sexually explicit images of children, under under the age of 12
“Sean Jeffrey Haga, 34, posted a message stating, ‘Looking for a mum or dad into kids,’ and provided his Kik messenger user name,” the court document says.
“51-year-old Stephen Joe Czerniec Jr. is also alleged to have exchanged nude photographs and text messages with the juvenile through the online site/app ‘KIK’ utilizing the screen name ‘Steve Czerniec,’”
Officials say a man started talking to the profile and the conversation turned inappropriate. At some point, the man asked the girl to switch to the “Kik” app. Police say the man told the girl he “wanted to take her virginity.”Detectives were able to track down the man’s IP address which led them to a home in Skiatook where they arrested 30-year-old Corey Vessar.
In his plea agreement, Nicholas Hodges, 31, admitted to obtaining and sharing pictures and videos of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct between August 2016 and March 2017. A defense sentencing memorandum filed with the court June 13 said Hodges stored many of them in a Dropbox folder and used the Kik Messenger app to solicit and spread those images.
Despite being under such investigation by NCIS, 48-year-old Charles Leis went back on Kik to a “family fun in Orlando” chat group. Upon finding a father in Orlando with 9-year-old and 11-year-old daughters, Leis asked “Are you active with them?”
Sometime between October 2016 and October 2017, Brian Keith Allen used Snapchat to send photos of his genitals to a boy who was under age 16.
What began with a teacher and student exchanging phone numbers and usernames to Snapchat, soon escalated into a sexual relationship off campus. Alexis Mercedes Boberg, 25, turned herself in to authorities.
33-year-old Akron resident Laura V. Bucy , who began working for the district as a family and consumer sciences teacher in August 2017, was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with the boy at the school and sending obscene photos via Snapchat to a juvenile that fall.
Indiana State Police from the Putnamville Post questioned 21-year-old Zachary M. Auler, who allegedly admitted to sending nude pictures of himself to underage females through Snapchat. Auler allegedly told police he knew that the girl was only 13. Investigators obtained a warrant for Auler’s cell phone.
Shelby Garigen, 41, of Clarence Center, is accused of using her Snapchat account to exchange sexually explicit photos with two 17-year-old boys.
An investigation documents, police said Michael D. Gutierrez sent inappropriate messages to two student-athletes on the app Snapchat.
According to the criminal complaint, girls ages 14 to 16 reported that 26-year-old Jesse B. Walker sent them nude pictures of himself through Snapchat.
In January, 50-year-old Angela Cone-Stanton was arrested after authorities learned of the illegal interactions with the teen boys at Citrus High School. Deputies said she performed a lewd act on one student and sent nude photos to the others through Snapchat.
Police said Hunter Thomas Harris, 25, contacted the teen through Facebook messenger. When she told him she was 16 years old, he replied “ughh lol” and asked why she couldn’t be 18 years old.
The two then began communicating on Snapchat, according to the criminal complaint.
25-year-old teacher Logan Procell first contacted the 11-year-old girl in Greater Boston via Snapchat after seeing her on a different social media app.
Adam Michael Wallace, 29, has been indicted on 19 felony charges in Washington County for allegedly sexually abusing boys and luring minors online. Wallace, who sometimes goes by his middle name, is believed to have used Instagram, SnapChat, Grinder, Hornet and text messages to contact his underage victims.
The girl gave her address while using her mother’s phone to exchange messages with Joseph Meili, 22, of Russellville, Missouri, on the MeetMe dating app.
“21-year-old Aaron Lloyd Mitchell further admitted to posting the photos of the females on Tumblr,” a federal complaint states. “Mitchell stated he had taken the photos through the SnapChat application, and then saved them to the camera roll on Mitchell’s phone, but he believed he had deleted most of them.”
